Snow in Northern Ireland: School closures, weather warnings, travel and road news as Met Office warns of ‘dangerous’ conditions

IanyMac on Instagram: “I hate it when I end up having to rush a photo! I had been watching the weather all afternoon and I had a feeling the sunset might just be a little special. But I also had to take my daughter to the airport as she was flying back to university in England and her check-in time was around 10. Unfortunately, in typical fashion, things didn’t quite go according to plan and we had to leave the house in a bit of a hurry to get to the airport on time :30 p.m. the sky was all beautiful and I was still rushing home to grab my camera bag Back up the road looking for something far off photogenic I stumbled across this little scene as I looked through almost every farm gate I passed I could like it because it was right on the edge of the blanket of freezing fog that lies between Larne and Ballynure and this is the resulting image. It’s nothing special, without some great landmarks, though the beautiful one sunset skies contrasted with the cold winter conditions just do it! Sometimes unplanned, impromptu photos can be the best, and I’m really happy with this one! #fujifilm #fuji #fujixt3 #fujifilmxt3 #fujifilm_xt3 #fujifilm_xseries #fujifilmxseries #fujifilmphotography #snowday #snowscene #snowysunset #sunsetsky #wintersunset #countyantrim #freezingfog #goldenhour #thernir02 #january2 #northernirelandphotography”

But I also had to take my daughter to the airport as she was flying back to university in England and her check-in time was around 3pm 16:30, which gave me plenty of time to find a cozy and wintry place and get a nice picture.Unfortunately, everything didn’t go according to plan and we had to leave the house in a bit. I rushed to the airport in time Minus the camera .At 15:30 the sky became so beautiful and I was still rushing home to grab my camera bag and looking for something distantly photogenic, I stumbled upon this little scene when I looked through almost every farm gate, I passed Larne and Ballynure in “A8 Hollow” and this is the resulting image, nothing special, no big interesting landmarks, but the beautiful sunset sky contrasts with the cold winter conditions!
