126.2 million views in 11 days

Season 2 of “Squid Game” is garnering views at a record pace. After topping Netflix’s charts last week with 68 million views in four days — Netflix’s biggest TV debut ever — the season gained another 58.2 million views in its first full week of availability. That brings it to a total of 126.2 million views over 11 days, more than any Netflix series has ever achieved in that time.

Season 2 of “Squid Game” immediately topped Netflix’s list of its most popular non-English-language series last week, but this week it jumped from No. 7 to no. 2. Only “Squid Game” Season 1 still surpasses it after racking up 265.2 million views in its first 91 days of streaming, but Season 2 looks set to surpass it with 80 days left to go accumulate views.

The season was of course the most watched English-language series in the week from December 30 to January 5 – as well as the most Netflix title of the week overall. “Squid Game” Season 1 also got a boost, reaching 13.6 million views and ranking No. 2 in the English language series.

On the movie chart, Taron Egerton’s “Carry-On” remained on top for a fourth week in a row with 17.4 million views — in fact, it also jumped to No. 5 on the list of Netflix’s most popular English-language movies of all time with 149.4 million views in just four weeks.

The best English-language series, and no. 2 Netflix title overall, was the limited series “Missing You,” which debuted with 21.7 million views in its first five days on Netflix. It was followed by “Virgin River” Season 2, which enjoyed its third week in the Top 10 with 5.2 million views, then “Black Doves” with 5 million views in its fifth week.

“Departure,” a Canadian series that premiered in 2020, recently landed on Netflix and took two spots on the chart: Season 1 landed at No. 4 on the chart with 3.6 million views, while season 2 took 10th place with 1.6 million views.

In fifth place was Colman Domingo’s “The Madness” with 2.8 million views in its sixth week on the chart, followed by comedy special “Your Friend, Nate Bargatze” at No. 6 with 2.5 million views in its first full week of availability. “No Good Deed” had its fourth week on the chart at No. 7 with 2.3 million views.

As no. 8, the comedy special “Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year” reached 2.1 million views. And season 1 of “The Night Agent” took ninth place as fans anticipate the release of season 2 on January 23.
