Michigan State coach Tom Izzo spoke to the media after Thursday’s contest.

Below is a partial transcript from Izzo’s opening statement:

Izzo: “When you have a game like that, it’s hard to even know what to say, other than — it was Matt Larson who said it went up the stairs — I hope that every media person, every alum, every student and every fan, appreciates the special thing we have here. The alumni reunions that we have every year are incredible, but to have many former Izzone members come back over 20 and 30 years was special to me Special to my team. And I almost felt sorry for Washington, none of them were incredible. And I could have been there for half an hour and thanked every one of them. You can say that about places everywhere different. people who put in the work to get this done. I don’t want to make it bigger than the game. And when Matt said that to me, I thought I, that was special.”
