Sounders FC acquire Paul Arriola from FC Dallas in trade

Sounders FC have confirmed the acquisition of winger Paul Arriola via trade from FC Dallas.

The 29-year-old arrives in Seattle in exchange for the club’s natural first-round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, as well as up to $300,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) if certain performance metrics are met.

The winger leaves Dallas after three seasons in which he scored 18 goals in 96 appearances. Before that, Arriola played for DC United and Tijuana in Liga MX.

A 2022 MLS All-Star, he also has 50 caps for the US Men’s National Team and scored 10 goals.

Speaking about the deal, Sounders FC head coach Brian Schmetzer said: “I’m delighted to welcome Paul to Seattle. His ability to play multiple positions at a high level gives us a lot of flexibility as a coaching staff.”

“In addition to his skill and versatility, Paul’s experience will have a positive impact in the dressing room and contribute to the strong culture we have built at this club. We are excited to see what he brings to the group.”

Arriola has agreed to a three-year contract with a club option in 2028.
