Snow showers, gusty winds and dropping temperatures are expected in Metro Detroit on Monday

MONDAY: Cloudy sky. Chance of snow showers. High: 29. Temperatures will drop into the lower 20s in the late afternoon and evening hours.

MONDAY EVENING: Cloudy sky. Chance of snow showers. High: 15. Wind chills to single digits to below zero overnight.

After most of the region saw some flurry activity through the late afternoon and evening hours on Sunday, we’ll keep the chance for flurries in the forecast throughout the start of the week.

As a cold front moves through the region today, we’ll keep the chance for snow showers in the forecast as the lake effect snow machine turns back on thanks to a northwesterly flow. High temperatures will enter the upper 20s on Monday, will drop to the upper teens and lower 20s Tuesday afternoon.

Expect dropping temperatures during the day on Monday with temperatures in the lower 20s in the late afternoon and evening. But once you factor in the wind, chills will drop below zero in the evening through overnight and into Tuesday morning across most of the region.

Another Arctic blast moves in looking ahead into the middle of next week, with highs on Tuesday in the lower 20s and overnight lows in the low teens and single digits, we’ll see a gradual warming going forward by the end of next week. The snow showers will taper off Tuesday night, and will keep a few flakes in the forecast Wednesday otherwise expect plenty of cloud cover.

As we see another front roll through the region on Thursday, we bring the chance of snow showers back to the region for the day on Thursday. High temperatures will warm slightly into the lower 30s in the afternoon.

We will then dry out by Friday, but retain cloud cover, and then a chance of rain and snow showers will move into the region at the start of the weekend on Saturday. We will see an area of ​​low pressure move south of the region, and with enough cold air in place and high temperatures just above freezing, we will hold the chance for some rain and snow showers.

Cloud cover will stick around for the end of the weekend on Sunday, but then we’ll go back into the freezer again. High temperatures will drop into the mid-20s Sunday afternoon.
