Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag showed off home tour before LA Fire

The hills stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag previously showed off their home on tour years before they lost it amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

Fueled by dry conditions and strong winds, the fires have caused unprecedented destruction in Southern California in recent days, with damages estimated at up to $150 billion.

The wildfires, which started on January 7, have killed at least 24 people with another 16 reported missing. About 150,000 people are under evacuation orders. More than 12,300 structures have been destroyed, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL Fire).

Among the several celebrities who lost their homes in the fires are TV personalities Pratt and Montag, who shared that they had lost their homes shortly after the flames began to sweep through Los Angeles County.

Last Wednesday, Pratt, who shares two young children with Montag, said his son’s bed burned in the shape of a heart as his house “burned to the ground.”

“A sign of how much love was in this house, so grateful for all the years and memories there with our family,” he wrote on Instagram.

Years before the devastating loss of their property, Pratt and Montag gave MTV viewers a tour of their home in a segment that aired in August 2019.

The home featured personal Lego art and large portraits of the couple, as well as their many magazine covers from over the years.

“We love fame, if you can’t tell,” Pratt joked as Montag thanked her mother for framing her magazine covers and naming Playboy and Rolling Stone as her favorites.

Pratt proudly showed off his large collection of crystals, which were seen in the couple’s office and their son’s playroom, which was formerly the “crystal room,” Montag shared at the time.

It was also revealed in the clip that Pratt made his own nectar from boiled water and white cane sugar every day to feed hummingbirds on their patio.

“The hummingbirds became an addition when we found out Heidi was pregnant,” explained Pratt. “That same day, hummingbird eggs hatched on our front door. Woah, sign from God. We were like, ‘OK, this is a spirit animal.'”

Days before they lost their home, Montag took to TikTok to share footage of the family celebrating the Christmas holiday while baked cookies. Another clip on TikTok showed the couple ringing in the new year with their children.

Life as they knew it would be turned upside down in a matter of days as the fires began to rage through various neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

In a video shared in the earlier stages of the wildfires, Montag said in a TikTok clip: “There’s a fire right above our house so please say some prayers for us. It’s a mandatory evacuation and I’m going to pack up here.”

While many of her followers on the platform wished her well, Montag returned with bad news. “We ended up losing our house in the fire,” she said. “Thank God we’re safe. So thank you to everyone checking. Thank you for all your prayers, thank you for your thoughts.”

As the video ended, Montag pulled out, fighting back her emotions.

Montag later shared footage of Pratt returning to the property they currently live in to say he had returned to the site of their home to see what was left.

“Spencer was able to pick up some things in the fire,” Montag said on TikTok.

Unwrapping his plastic bag, Pratt revealed “the hummingbird pot with some nectar in it,” as well as other items that included a crystal and a toy shovel.
