ABC News hires Tara Narula as chief medical correspondent

ABC News has hired Tara Narula to serve as chief medical correspondent.

Narula succeeds Jennifer Ashton, who left earlier this year.

Narula is a cardiologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, where she serves as associate director of the Women’s Heart Program. She is also an associate professor at the Zucker School of Medicine in Hoftra/Northwell and director of communications for the Katz Institute of Women’s Health in Northwell. She also serves as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Narula will report on ABC News’ programs and platforms, including Good morning America and GMA 3: What you need to know.

Narula has been a medical correspondent and contributor for CBS, CNN, NBC and Oprah magazine. She won a 2022 Emmy for live news program on CBS Morning.

Darien Sutton will continue as ABC News’ medical correspondent alongside Narula.
