Sir Rod Stewart’s 80th birthday celebrations come to an end as his son Alastair shares sweet family photos after ‘unforgettable’ St Barts holiday

Sir Rod Stewart’s 80th birthday celebrations are over after the musician gathered his extended family to celebrate in style with a luxury holiday in St. Barts.

The singer splashed out on a no-expenses-paid vacation on a $150 million superyacht, cruising the Caribbean with his wife Penny Lancaster, 53, and seven of his eight children.

And his son Alastair has shared a number of sweet family photos as he gushed over the ‘unforgettable’ trip.

The whole gang lined up for a smiling shot before starting to pull faces for a silly snap.

As the family shuffled around, Alastair wrote the post: “An unforgettable time, love you all.”

Last week, Rod, who reportedly rented the boat for $3 million, made the most of the sunny climate as he rocked a fedora hat, bright yellow shirt and topped up his tan on the speedboat trip to the coast.

Penny arrived at the beach in a black lace dress and white T-shirt, but quickly took it off to show off her figure in a cheetah print swimsuit.

Ruby, who Rod welcomed in 1987 with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg, slipped into a khaki bikini and rocked a black hat and sunglasses. She is on vacation with her partner Jake Kalic.

During the beach day, Penny went for a swim with her son Alastair, 19, Adam Sumner, who is partnered with Rod’s daughter Renee, 32.

Rod has eight children over the age of 47 with five different mothers.

The crooner and Penny married in 2007 and have sons Alastair and Aiden Patrick, 14.

Kimberly, 45, whose mother is Alana, has been sharing snaps from the lavish trip, including a photo of her daughter Delilah, 13, posing with Rod.

Her brother Sean, 44, is part of the party with his girlfriend Julia Stambler.

Liam, 30, and his wife Nicole Artukovich, who are expecting their second child, are also on board.

Rod is also father to daughter Sarah Streeter, 60, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Susannah Boffey. Sarah does not appear to have been on the trip.

It comes after Rod assured fans he is ‘not done yet’ as he marked his 80th birthday on Instagram.

The iconic singer took to his Instagram Stories with a sweet post, thanking his ‘loyal and rowdy’ followers for their devotion throughout his 50-year career.

He wrote: ‘May I take this opportunity on my 80th birthday to personally express my gratitude and thanks to all my loyal and rowdy fans around the world for helping to give me such a wonderful life!’.

‘In return, I hope I’ve given you some memorable songs and lively concerts… I’m not done yet. Sir Rod’.

Meanwhile, Penny shared a tribute to her ‘darling’ alongside a photo of the sun-kissed Maggie May hitmaker.

‘Happy birthday my dear, so blessed to share this day with all our children. I love you by building more memories with us into the future and be held close to our hearts forever.

The luxury vessel has a hefty crew, complete with three chefs ‘to take care of everyone’s dietary needs and restrictions’ as the famous family ‘hops numerous islands’ in the Caribbean.

“The party is costing Rod millions,” an insider told DailyMail.com. ‘He’s known for being a cheapskate, but not this time. He flew everyone to Florida in first class and has told them they don’t need to put their hands in their pockets for anything. He caters to their every whim.

‘The reason behind the trip is that Rod feels it’s time to get his family together for his big birthday. There have been battles between many of them over the years. The singer wants everything to be harmonious from now on.’

Rod is no stranger to holidaying with his brood after spending days aboard a 197ft, £274,000-a-week luxury yacht in Italy in summer 2022.

But insiders claim he wanted to ‘make it big’ for his current festive adventure.

The Grammy Award winner chose the 288-foot vessel, which has nine suites for guests, as well as a beauty salon, gym, hammam, swimming pool and helipad.

“This trip meant so much to Rod,” another source added. ‘The whole family has come together and put any drama aside to really have a reunion experience.

‘To be surrounded by so much love is priceless for Rod. He wanted to make it big for this one.

“He couldn’t have gotten any bigger.”
