MP launches legal action over Andrew Tate social media posts

A Northern Ireland MP is set to take legal action against controversial online influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan, over social media posts.

KRW Law said the submissions were made on Friday, the day after Sorcha Eastwood of the Alliance Party said she was a “survivor of abuse” in the House of Commons.

During a debate on violence against women and girls, Eastwood said she was once approached by a member of the public who told her he was going to rape her.

Her lawyers confirmed they had been instructed to file legal action and that correspondence had been made with the Tate brothers’ lawyers on Tuesday.
