Man shoots robbery suspect in Trader’s Point shopping complex

An attempted robbery landed a suspect in critical condition after police said the assailant shot him at the Trader’s Point shopping complex on the city’s northwest side early Wednesday.

Two other suspects in the robbery ran away after the shooting.

At 5:41 a.m. Tuesday, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were dispatched to 5700 block of W 86th Street about a person shot. When the officers learned that three suspects were attempting to rob two people.

One of those people was armed and shot one of the suspects. Both are cooperating with the police, according to a press release from the department.

A knife was also found and taken into evidence, according to police.
