How to watch Penn State vs. Michigan State – NCAA Men’s Basketball (1/15/25) | Channel, Stream, Preview

EAST LANSING — One of the best teams in the Big Ten will look to remain undefeated in conference play Wednesday night when the Michigan State Spartans host the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The Spartans are off to one of the more surprising starts in college basketball this season. Although they have talented players on both ends of the court, and on the bench, few could have expected this team to explode out of the gate the way they have. In addition to losses to Kansas and Memphis, Michigan State has continued to pull out wins, especially in Big Ten play. In addition to wins over Minnesota and Nebraska in December, MSU has won three more conference games in the last week or so, including a 10-point victory over Northwestern last Sunday.

While the Spartans try to build on their nine-game winning streak, the Nittany Lions look to end their current losing skid. Penn State comes into Wednesday a few days away from a tough matchup against No. 15 Oregon on Sunday, losing by just one point. The Nittany Lions have lost three straight games, including losing to nationally ranked Illinois by 29 points last week.

Penn State is 1-2 against ranked opponents this year, which includes a win over Purdue in the Big Ten opener back in December.

Since 2000, MSU is 33-7 against Penn State, with the Spartans winning the last three meetings.
