Prince Andrew’s latest setback after Duke turned down from Anne’s event | Royal | News

Prince Andrew was “not invited” to an event hosted by Princess Anne last week, it has been claimed.

The 64-year-old is said to have been barred from a Windsor Castle dinner in honor of his former school – despite living just miles away on the royal estate.

The event reportedly celebrated Gordonstoun School, an educational institution where he was once a pupil.

As Warden of the prestigious Scottish institution, Anne is known to have hosted the event. The school was also previously visited by the late Prince Philip, King Charles and Prince Edward.

This was told by a royal source Mail that Andrew – who is no longer a working royal after stepping down in 2019 – was not present at the exclusive gathering.

A spokesman for Gordonstoun said: “In her role as Warden of Gordonstoun, Her Royal Highness hosted an intimate evening dinner attended by a small number of guests.”

Although Anne herself did not attend the school, her children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, attended Gordonstoun.

A friend of Andrew’s told the publication: “I’m sure the Duke would have loved to have attended the dinner if he had been invited.”

Prince Andrew was previously pictured, aged 13, on his first day at Gordonstoun School. In the black and white photo, Andrew is seen standing next to his father.

The rejection comes just weeks after Andrew decided not to spend Christmas at the Sandringham estate with the royals.

The Duke of York is believed to have made the decision after his relationship with an alleged Chinese spy came to light.
