Curaçao broke the record for the number of visitors in 2024

Curaçao ended 2024 with a 20 percent year-on-year increase in land-based and cruise ship visitors, the Curaçao Tourism Board (CTB) said. The sectors combined brought 1.57 million visitors to the Caribbean destination last year, driven in part by a 30 percent increase in travelers from the United States.

Curaçao hosted 700,249 overnight stays, land-based visitors, 35,499 daytime travelers and 834,922 cruise passengers in 2024. The destination’s strong 2024 results were driven in part by a record December, when Curaçao hosted 73,669 land-based overnight stays, 6 percent of the year, on country. – increase over the year.

The month also represented the first in which Curaçao hosted more than 70,000 overnight visitors, CTB officials said. The United States represented Curaçao’s second largest source market for visitors in 2024 (behind the Netherlands), with a 30 percent increase over the previous year.

Visitors from the United States stayed an average of 6.4 nights, with most travelers coming from New York, Florida, New Jersey, Texas and Georgia, CTB officials said.

The United States is one of Curaçao’s source markets “to have seen (increased) air service from various airline partners, who have collectively either expanded their connectivity or started a new route” to the nation, CTB officials said.
