Kenny Chesney has broken many records in his 30-year career, from concert attendance records to chart milestones, and now the country superstar will add another accolade to his list when he becomes the first country artist to perform on Las Vegas sphere.

Chesney’s 12-date Live at Sphere residency kicks off May 22, with shows scheduled for May 24-25, 28 and 30-31. May and 4 June, 6-7, 11 and 13-14. Tickets are on sale at 1:00 PM ET January 31st via kennychesney.com.

Chesney said in a statement that he was “all in” when he learned about the technological capabilities of the unique entertainment venue, even without having seen a concert there.

“Just the idea of 4D technology and the impossibly connected sound elevates the experience for No Shoes Nation, literally immersing them in music, images, sound and togetherness. For me, this will be a whole new way to rock the fans and I can’t wait,” said Chesney.

How U2’s movie inspired Kenny Chesney to play Sphere

Chesney explained that visiting Las Vegas with his tour advisors and watching the immersive U2 concert film “V-U2” at the Sphere was enough to convince him to set up his own show at the venue.

“We were standing on the floor while they were running the footage of U2’s show and we were completely engrossed. We could see the band, but it was so much more than that. It almost took what they were doing and multiplied it by another dimension,” Chesney said. “Knowing how much intensity our shows generate, my mind started thinking about all the things we could do. When you see how the show wraps all around you, the dream begins.”

Chesney and his team have worked for almost a year with the technical and creative wizards of the 17,600 capacity venue to create an immersive show.

The Sphere, which U2 christened when it opened in September 2023 and played 40 dates, has been a visual and sonic playground for Phish, Dead & Co, Eagles (with dates through April) and Afterlife Presents Anyma.
