The Red Wings’ NHL Stadium Series uniforms pay homage to Detroit’s hockey and automotive heritage

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings pay tribute to Hockeytown’s history with their 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series uniforms.

The uniforms were unveiled on Thursday, January 16 by the NHL ahead of the March 1 outdoor game.

The special uniform features a custom “Detroit” script across the chest, inspired by classic car logos that also feel like Michigan and Michigan State hockey uniforms.

Racing stripes, like those on a racing car, are featured on the sleeves, socks and helmet.

Paying homage to Detroit’s extensive hockey history, team mascot Al the Octopus is featured on one seam and “Hockeytown” is printed on the pants.

You can see all the flourishes and fun touches the uniforms have in the gallery above.

The jerseys will be available for pre-order at all Red Wings team stores.

The Red Wings will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on March 1 at Ohio Stadium.

The Blue Jackets’ uniform for the event celebrates Ohio’s history, which nobody cares about. It has hockey sticks on the shoulder, which seems redundant. You can see them here.
