Nick Viall and Natalie Joy Dodge questions about rumors

Nick Viall and Natalie Joy are a podcasting couple I couldn’t be less invested in, and yet I find myself endlessly fascinated by the details of their relationship. Viall is a post-Bachelor bro, who made a career and positioned himself as the world’s most faithful wife-guy, while Joy is a surgical technologist 18 years his junior. They often appear together on Viall’s popular podcast, The vial fileswhere they parrot gender truisms, reveal details about their sex lives and give lonely singles advice on how to be like them. In a new one interview with Bustle, but the couple — now parents to a 1-year-old daughter named River — dished on almost everything except the one thing we actually wanted to know: What’s up with the cheating rumors?

Last May, redditors began speculating that Joy was having an affair around the time the couple got engaged in 2023. Although the rumors have not been substantiated in any way, Viall and Joy have yet to deny them outright.

“When you have River, you realize what’s important in life: protecting our family. That’s why we don’t give oxygen to any rumors about us,” Joy said when asked again about the Reddit rumors. Then it becomes a headline. Then River will see it one day. She’s like, Wait. What happened? And it’s like – none of it matters. We know what the truth is. We know what is happening in our lives.”

Other than that one time Viall said he’s “ignorant of things people say” on Reddit, that’s probably the closest we’ll get to an acknowledgment. I totally understand the desire for privacy, especially when a child is involved, but it’s really hard not to read into this when you’re dealing with a man who wrote a self-help book titled Don’t text your ex happy birthday. Kudos to Viall, though. I would also love to be so mentally free that I am “ignorant of things that people say.”
