Poor visibility and hazardous conditions reported on area highways – DiscoverWeyburn.com

Snow and blowing snow greeted much of southern Saskatchewan this morning. The conditions have resulted in no-travel advisories being issued for many of the highways in the eastern part of the province, including a number in the Weyburn area. These warnings are due to severely reduced visibility as well as loose, swirling, drifting and blowing snow.

From United States border, Highway 48 from White City to the Manitoba border, Highway 1 from Regina east and Highway 13 from Stoughton east.

The conditions also led to the closure of the Trans-Canada from Regina to Belle Plaine.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has also issued a snow blowing notice due to these conditions. They expect conditions to improve as the day progresses and recommend postponing non-essential travel until then.
