Forecast shows snow for Eagles vs. Rams

It is looking more and more likely that the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams play their divisional playoff game under snow Sunday afternoon.

Here is the latest weather forecast:

The rainfall total of 3.55″ is up from the 2.6″ we reported on Thursday.

The forecast currently shows snowfall beginning around 12:30 p.m. Eastern Sunday and lasts until about 8.30 p.m. The Eagles’ kickoff is set for 3 p.m.

There are differing schools of thought as to which team benefits the most from snowy conditions.

On the one hand, Matthew Stafford doesn’t exactly thrive in bad weather. And the Rams’ offense didn’t play very well in their only cold game this season, a 19-to-9 win over New York Jets.

On the other hand, a random factor like this could be an equalizer that helps the underdog.

Eagles’ Snow Bowl win over Stafford and Detroit Lions in 2013 was one of the most special games ever to take place at Lincoln Financial Field. We’ll see if Sunday is another good memory for the birds.
