Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey leaves the game against the Spurs with an injury

SAN ANTONIO — Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey left Friday’s game vs San Antonio Spurs and will not return due to a nose injury.

Edey suffered the injury in the first half. He was seen on the bench and received help from the Grizzlies’ medical staff to stop the bleeding in the second quarter.

Edey did not start the second half. He joined his teammates on the bench late in the third quarter.

Before leaving Friday’s game, Edey had four points and four rebounds in seven minutes.

Edey has played in the last eight games after missing time due to a complex migraine. He also missed 12 games earlier this season with an ankle injury.

Before Friday, Edey was averaging 9.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
