Snow expected in DC area, 1-3 inches could fall Sunday – NBC4 Washington

Another round of snow is headed for the Washington, DC area.

The chance of snow this weekend has increased, and it now looks like there could be snow Sunday morning.

This snow won’t be anywhere near a crippling blizzard, but it could affect your travel plans, said Storm Team4 meteorologist Chuck Bell.

Temperatures will be above freezing when the snow begins overnight and early Sunday morning.

Precipitation, whether rain or snow, will likely begin at 9. Throughout Sunday afternoon, you can expect the precipitation to be all snow before it tapers off in the evening.

Soaking temperatures guarantee snow sticks. The roads can become quite difficult late Sunday afternoon and evening.

Take full advantage Friday and Saturday while temperatures are in the 40s. Get errands out of the way, clear any lingering snow from showers earlier in the week, and treat sidewalks.

You don’t want to be out on Sunday afternoon.

Next week will be brutally cold Monday through Thursday (and many roads, plus some subway stations, will be closed for the presidential inauguration).
