Nicole Kidman Discusses Bond With Antonio Banderas In ‘Babygirl’; ‘I felt like we’d been married our whole lives’

The Australian actress has met with all sorts of acclaim for her new film “Babygirl”, in which she plays a powerful CEO who is involved in a romantic relationship with a young intern. The film shows a new side of herself to the world, something she has described as terrifying and exciting as a professional actor who has been making films for the past 40 years.

In an interview with PhotogramKidman opened up about the process of making the film, including the bond she developed with her on-screen husband Antonio Banderas.

Discussing the film’s approach to masculinity, Kidman was quick to praise the men she worked with, including Harris Dickinson, who plays the young intern, and Banderas.

“This was the great fortune of finding men like Harris who walked into the kitchen and said ‘Here I am, I’m yours’. And Antonio, who gave us the okay from the start,” reports the outlet in Spanish. “I saw him, and I felt like we had been married forever. That he was someone with experience.”

What does Kidman think about the possibility of an Oscar nomination?

The interview also addressed Kidman’s odds of earning an Oscar nomination. While she seemed happy with the positive reception the film received, she made it clear that Oscar recognition is not why she took on these parts.

“As an actor, I’m always looking for new paths that take me somewhere I’ve never been. To explore new territories with people I trust. That’s what we did in ‘Babygirl'”.

One of the world’s most beloved actresses, Kidman has earned five Oscar nominations throughout her career for the films “Moulin Rouge,” “The Hours,” “Rabbit Hole,” “Lion” and “Being The Ricardos.” She has won the award once for “The Hours” in the year 2002.
