Detroit Pistons vs Suns advanced to Lions-Commanders playoff game

game

The Detroit Lions host one of the biggest games in franchise history on Saturday when they play the Washington Commanders in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

The Pistons’ schedule has been adjusted to accommodate that. Their home game on Saturday against the Phoenix Suns, originally scheduled for 5 p.m., has been moved up an hour to 4 p.m. Lions receives the Commanders at 8 p.m

The buffer should give fans who want to attend both games more time to make the trip from Little Caesars Arena to Ford Field, about a 15-minute walk down Woodward Avenue, or have time to get home to watch kickoff.

It’s been a hot 2025 for the Pistons, who are 7-1 since the start of the new year and have won 10 of their previous 12 games. They are two games over .500 — 21-19 — heading into Thursday’s home game against the Indiana Pacers.

Two of the Suns’ stars are also likely to tune in to (or attend) the NFL game. Grand Rapids native Devin Booker, a Lions fan, and Kevin Durant, a Washington, DC native and Commanders fan.
