Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign tough former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Marquez Callaway has signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to the NFL’s transaction page. Callaway was on the Buccaneers’ practice squad this season from mid-October until the end of the year, and will now return to the offseason with the team.

Callaway spent time in training camp with the New Orleans Saints, but just one week after signing with the place he called home for much of his NFL career, he was released. Until he found a new home with the Buccaneers, Callaway was a free agent waiting for a call.

Callaway was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Tennessee in 2020. Over the past year, he has spent time with the Saints, Steelers, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders. He has 1,069 receiving yards in his career, and his best season is coming in 2021, when he caught 46 passes for 698 yards and six touchdowns.
