$1M Powerball ticket sold at Fredericksburg grocery store

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Check your Powerball numbers because someone who bought a ticket in Fredericksburg for Monday’s drawing has won $1 million, according to the Virginia Lottery.

The million dollar ticket was purchased at the Wegmans store at 2281 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg.

The winning numbers for the Jan. 13 drawing were 4-6-16-39-66 and the Powerball number was 9. The winning ticket sold in Fredericksburg matched all five numbers but did not match the Powerball number.

The million-dollar Powerball ticket was the only one in the United States to match the first five numbers. No ticket from the January 13 drawing had all six numbers, which would have given a ticket holder a jackpot of $285 million. That means Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot will grow to an estimated $303 million.

The person with a million-dollar Powerball ticket has 180 days from the drawing date to contact Virginia Lottery. Winners are encouraged to contact the lottery as soon as possible and sign the back of their ticket to establish ownership.

The Wegmans store will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the $1 million winning ticket.
