“Well, let’s get her out!” Palmer shouted. But unfortunately it was a joke.

Rannells then delved into a hilarious anecdote about meeting his former commercial co-star at a Golden Globes ceremony. “The one time I was asked to attend the Golden Globes, she was there. And you know, it’s like the Hunger Games of celebrities,” Rannells recalled. “It’s like, everybody’s there. I maybe walked towards her with a little too much enthusiasm and her husband kind of stood up and blocked my way.”

He continued, “And I was like, ‘Amy, that’s me! Andy Rannells! We did a commercial together in Omaha in 1996!’ I just started yelling at her.”

The two were able to connect. “She was very nice,” Rannells said. “And then, oddly enough, I saw her many times after that. She was always very nice. And you know what? I’m going to say this: I knew when I met her that she was something special.”

Both stars have come a long way since the humble little bank commercial. Adams, a six-time Academy Award nominee, is once again courting Oscar buzz for his work in Marielle Hellers Nightbitchwhile Rannells, a two-time Tony Award nominee and Grammy winner who has also had roles in films and television series such as Girlsrecently boarded the star-studded All In.
