Apple’s Dick Turpin Show was canceled after Noel Fielding resigned

Apple has been forced to halt production on its Dick Turpin comedy-drama after Noel Fielding, the star, pulled out due to ill health.

The second series of Dick Turpin’s completely fictional adventure was scrapped this week when the actor and comedian, 51, did not return to work after the Christmas break.

A spokesman for Fielding said The Great British Bake Off the presenter was not well enough to continue filming. But some of the 100 staff who worked on the show were said to be frustrated by the decision to scrap the film adaptation as production was within weeks of wrapping up.
