Proud Boys seen marching and singing in DC streets as Trump takes oath – NBC4 Washington

A group of proud boys carrying pro-Trump and anti-Antifa signs marched in the streets of Washington as Donald Trump prepared for the inauguration ceremony at the Capitol Rotunda.

Photos show a group of people dressed in black and yellow with flags that say “Proud Boys” in the center walk near the Capital One Arena, where thousands await Trump’s arrival.

“Free our boys” were among several chants. Some marchers wore matching black jackets with a badge on the back.

Dozens of Proud Boys leaders, members and staff have been convicted and sentenced to prison in the attack on the Capitol on January 6.

Former chairman Enrique Tarriowho is serving 22 years in federal prison after being convicted of seditious conspiracy, Trump asked for clemency. It is unclear whether anyone will receive pardons promised by Trump.

A large group was heard chanting “51st state,” apparently echoing Trump’s remarks about Canada, in a video shared on social media.

The extremist group was known for street battles with anti-fascist activists when Trump infamously told them to “stand back and stand” during his first 2020 debate with Biden.
