Dangerous cold causes school closings to extend into Tuesday in Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS — Some schools and organizations in Minnesota are announcing additional closings for Tuesday, following a wave of closures Monday amid dangerously cold weather.

Minneapolis Public Schools and the Anoka-Hennepin Public School District, among many others, will all be closed for the day. Many other schools throughout the state were previously scheduled to be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but with students expected to return to classes Tuesday, a number of schools are getting ahead of the potentially dangerous conditions.
