Eastern Iowa schools call for closures and delays amid dangerous and extreme cold

Dozens of schools in eastern Iowa will be closed or delayed Tuesday amid this week’s freezing wind chill, including a two-hour delay for the Cedar Rapids Community School District.

The Iowa City Community School District will close all together on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued an extreme cold warning for areas on the north side of Highway 30 until noon Tuesday.
