Both teams trade turnovers out of the timeout before McFarlane drives and gets his first points of the night. On the next BC possession, Buchanan gets a strong stop and rebound in the paint before Virginia turns it over again. Six turnovers from BC compared to three from UVA so far.

Donald Hand Jr. gets to the free throw line, the first trip to the line for either team in fifteen minutes, and connects on both. Buchanan scores a putback layup as the shot clock expires on Virginia’s next possession, ending a three-minute scoring drought. After a Venning miss, Isaac McKneely drills a sweet moving 3 PT – he’s 3-3 from three on the night.

Virginia 30, Boston College 11 | 8:12 AM
Elijah Saunders hits his first 3PT of the night off a Jacob Cofie offensive rebound and assist. On the very next Virginia possession, Saunders knocks down another three-ball. He is now 4-4 with 10 PTS and the Virginia lead has grown to 17. After a BC miss, Andrew Rohde drives and finds the lane for another bucket. 19-point UVA lead and an 8-0 run. BC can hardly get anything going against a disciplined Virginia defensive attack. Timeout Eagles.

Virginia 22, Boston College 11 | 10:51 AM
BC travel and give the ball to the ‘Hoos’ after the break. Virginia takes advantage with Rohde immediately making a tough baseline floater — he’s 2-2 to start the game, and Virginia has an early eight-point lead.

Eagles struggle with Roger McFarlane turning the ball over for the second time in two games; Virginia once again executes the BC fouls, this time a beautiful pick-and-roll between Rohde and Buchanan leads to a Buchanan dunk. BC’s Joshua Beadle responds with a baseline, mid-range jumper to end the short Virginia run before Saunders gets another Virginia bucket in the paint. Isaac McKneely knocks down his second three in as many attempts, this one a quick catch-and-shoot off the assist from Dai Dai Ames. Donald Hand Jr. answers with a three of his own, the first of the night for Virginia, before Ishan Sharma gets it right back and knocks down his first three of the night.

Chad Venning breaks through the lane and slams home the third FG of the night. Virginia is 9-13 from the field to start the contest, an excellent start as they look to snap a five-game losing streak.
