ATP Australian Open best bets including Sinner vs De Minaur

ATP Australian Open quarterfinals

Shelton – Sonego: 22.01.2025 Time TBA
H2H: 1-1

Ben Shelton has won four of his last five matches. In the opening round of the Australian Open, Shelton defeated Nakashima in close straight sets. Then, in the second round, Ben defeated Carreno-Busta in four close sets. This is his third appearance at the Australian Open. In the third round, Shelton defeated Musetti in four sets, as we predicted. Today against Monfils, Shelton was leading 2-1 when Monfils withdrew with a back injury. Last year, Ben was upset by Adrian Mannarino in the third round, losing in five close sets.

Lorenzo Sonego has won four of his last five matches. In the Australian Open, Lorenzo defeated Wawrinka in four close sets, as we predicted. It was a high quality match with both players playing aggressively. In the second round, Lorenzo upset Fonseca in five close sets. In the third round, Sonego defeated Marozsan in four sets. After losing the first set 6–7, Sonego trailed in the second set tiebreak 3–6 but turned it around. Today, in the round of 16, Sonego defeated Tien in four sets, as we predicted. Last year in Melbourne, Sonego reached the second round of the Australian Open, losing to Alcaraz in four close sets.

Best bet

According to the bookies, Shelton is the big favorite in this fight, but we disagree. Sonego played great this week; we expect him to keep this game close. Lorenzo is a dangerous player who can beat anyone when he plays his best tennis. This match could go either way.

Having said that, Sonego covering the handicap of the game is a value bet.

Sinner – de Minaur: 22.01.2025 Time TBA
H2H: 9-0

Jannik Sinner has won 21 games in a row. Sinner defeated Jarry in straight sets at the Australian Open. His last loss was in October in Beijing, where he lost to Alcaraz in the final. In the second round, Sinner defeated Schoolkate in four sets. Surprisingly, he lost the first set 4-6. In the third round, as we predicted, Sinner dominated against Giron in straight sets. Jannik is the defending champion in the Australian Open. Today, in the Round of 16, Sinner defeated Rune in four sets, as we predicted. Last year, Sinner defeated Medvedev in five sets in the final after being down 0-2.

Alex de Minaur has won six matches in a row. In the opening round of the Australian Open, de Minaur won over Van de Zandschulp in straight sets. After this, in the second round, Alex also won over Boyer in straight sets. De Minaur is the eighth seed, and the home crowd has high expectations. As we predicted, they defeated Minaur Cerundolo in the third round in four close sets. Today in the 1/8 final, Alex destroyed Michelsen in straight sets. Last year at the Australian Open, de Minaur reached the round of 16 and lost to Rublev in five sets.

Best bet

According to the bookmakers, Sinner is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Jannik is the biggest favorite to win the Australian Open. We expect him to extend his winning streak and continue his dominance in Melbourne. Alex has no weapons for Jannik’s game.

Having said that, Sinner covering the game’s handicap is a value bet.
