Colin Jost on Scarlett Johansson’s “Vagina Joke” from ‘SNL’s Joke Swap: “Was Genuinely So Shocked”

Colin Jost says Scarlett Johansson was “really so shocked” by the “vagina joke” on Saturday Night Live.

Jost and his “Weekend Update” co-host Michael Che have made a joke swap tradition of writing jokes for each other.

In the Christmas episode, which aired on December 21, Che wrote a joke about Avengers star, which Jost read during the live show while Johansson watched backstage.

The The danger of pop culture host appeared on The Tonight Show, with host Jimmy Fallon asking Jost if he was “in trouble with Scarlett” after the show.

“I think I’m in trouble with a lot of people,” Jost told Fallon. “Scarlett was really that shocked.”

Jost revealed that SNL had given Johansson a “heads up” that they would make a crude joke at her expense, which she was game for.

“They were like, ‘Hey, would you be okay if Michael made a little vagina joke at some point?’ She said, ‘Well, whatever, I’m open to it.’ I didn’t know where it was going,” Jost Fallon shared.

As Jost made the joke, cameras captured Johansson’s shocked face. Jost said his reaction to her reaction was genuine because “I can’t act that well.”

In the Christmas episode, Jost and Che traded jokes, with Jost making a joke comparing Costco’s roast beef sandwich to Johansson’s vagina.

“Costco has removed the roast beef sandwich from their menu. But I don’t stumble. I’ve had roast beef every night since my wife had the baby,” Jost joked.
