Thousands without power nationwide as winter storm ravages Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Thousands of Entergy and other utility customers in the state of Louisiana are without power as a rare winter snowstorm hits the area.

Statewide, Entergy is reporting 2,383 outages as of 1:30 p.m. Tuesday 21/1/25.

So far, Ascension has the most outages in our area, 192 customers, followed by Iberville, East Baton Rouge and Assumption Parishes.

Demco reported hundreds of outages this morning, but has since restored them. The majority of the outcomes were in Saint Helena Parish.

This evening, dangerously cold temperatures will affect the area.

Locally, officials have imposed curfews in many areas and want you to stay off the roads unless you’re trying to get to a warming shelter or home with heat.
