Worcester schools open late Wednesday due to cold weather

All Head Start programs will be closed and there will be no morning or afternoon preschool. The all-day kindergarten will be open with a two-hour delay.

Administrative offices will have normal opening hours.

The National Weather Service is predicting an overnight low of one degree below zero and the high temperature only reaching 18 degrees in Worcester on Wednesday, with a wind chill that will make it feel like 10 degrees below.

Brutal conditions are expected to ease on Thursday, with highs in the upper 20s.
