Lower Shore schools announce virtual days or delays through Thursday

As cold temperatures and dangerous road conditions continue on the Lower Shore, public schools have announced plans to either start with a delay or go virtual on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Here’s what each county has planned.

Somerset County Public Schools

Due to cold temperatures and black ice continuing throughout the county, Somerset County Public Schools students and staff will not report to school and will instead work to a virtual learning schedule Thursday. 12-month staff will telecommute and contact their supervisor. Necessary personnel to control buildings.

Wicomico County Public Schools

Due to road conditions, Wicomico County Public Schools will have a 90-minute delay on Thursday, January 23rd. No breakfast will be served at the school. The school will provide additional information about the day’s schedule if needed.

Worcester County Public Schools

With road conditions expected to worsen overnight and due to the previously scheduled early dismissal days, Worcester County will hold virtual learning days on January 23rd and 24th.

Students must log into Schoology according to their normal schedule. All after-school, evening and adult education classes have been cancelled.
