Multicon to benefit LA Wildfire Recovery

A number of comic book convention regulars are teaming up to help the victims of the Los Angeles wildfires.

On February 22, names like Kevin Smith, David Dastmalchian and Seth Green gather at MultiCon, which takes place at The Preserve LA. There will be the normal trappings of a comic convention, including panels and autograph signings, but with a twist: fans can donate money to get autographs and selfies with talent.

Others attending include Rob Liefeld, Jackie Tohn, Daniel Logan, Yuri Lowenthal, Tara Platt, Isaac Robinson Smith, Monique Coleman and Kaycee Stroh. More will be announced as the date approaches.

Proceeds benefit the United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

“Everyone knows someone whose life was turned upside down by the wildfires. We have planned this event with Multihouse to not only raise funds to help those in need, but also to give people an opportunity to start the healing process,” said Larry Bond, chairman of Bond Companies and the developer of The Preserve LA.

Panel hosts include Greg Alba (Real reject), Coy Jandreau (DC official podcast/Real reject), Perri Nemiroff (Collider), Katcy Stephan (Black), Juju Green aka Straw Hat Goofy, Erik “DoA” Lonnquist and Ben Watts (IGN).

Multihouse CEO and event producer Michael Tessler noted, “MultiCon brings together the best of Hollywood and is a reminder that we’re more than just an industry; we’re a community of working-class dreamers and individuals who care about each other and want to roll up their sleeves up when our neighbors need help.”

Tickets start at $35, with VIP tickets selling for $100 and available for purchase here.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to partner with Bond Companies and Multihouse for this event. Now more than ever, our work at United Way of Greater Los Angeles is critical – this recovery will take years, but we want our community know that we will be with them every step of the way, says Elise Buik, executive director of the United Way of Greater Los Angeles.
