When will Lady Vols trains back after giving birth?

Austin – Lady Vol’s basketball coach Kim Caldwell gave birth to his first child, a little boy, Tennessee Athletics announced on Thursday.

Caldwell, 36, and her husband, Justin, called him Conor Scott Caldwell, they announced on social media. The couple got married in May 2023. Both Caldwell and the baby are doing well according to the statement.

Caldwell did not travel with No. 17 Tennessee (15-3, 3-3 SEC) to their road match with No. 7 Texas (17-2, 4-1) in the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, Thursday (8 p.m. , Espn).

Assistant coach Jenna Burdet handles head coach tasks Thursday in Caldwell’s absence. Burdet trained with Caldwell at both of his previous stops, starting in Glenville State in 2018-20.

Caldwell, who is in her first season as a coach in Tennessee, announced that she was pregnant in September. She did not miss any matches up to the birth as she trained Lady Vols in the loss in Vanderbilt on Sunday. There is a possibility of Caldwell missing out on more games, depending on how the delivery went.

Lady Vols returns to Knoxville for a matchup with the reigning national champion South Carolina on January 27 (19.00 ET, ESPN). They have an open date on January 30 before playing Missouri away from February 2nd and No. 6 Uconn at home on February 6th.

Texas A&M coach Joni Taylor returned to the bench two days after giving birth to her second daughter while she was Georgia coach in February 2019. But she emphasized that her lightweight pregnancies and smooth, easy births allowed her to do so.

Taylor also did not travel to Bulldogs’ last two outdoor matches of the season and only participated in the home matches to get to the SEC tournament.

Oklahoma State coach Jacie Hoyt gave birth to her daughter this season on December 12, 2024 and returned to train cowgirls for a win on December 21, 2024. Hoyt had returned to training on Friday, eight days after birth.

Hoyt gave birth during the team’s 10-day break in the matches. She only missed Oklahoma State’s fight against McNeese after she gave birth. Hoyt missed two matches in Daytona, Florida, at the end of November while he was pregnant and was limited from traveling.

Caldwell is not the only one Pregnant SEC Trainer This season. Florida coach Kelly Rae Finley is pregnant And is expected in April.
