New fires break out in southern California ahead of Trump -Visits

Five new fires have erupted in southern California ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit to the state.

The fans – named Laguna, Sepulveda, Gibbel, Gilman and Border 2 – flared up Thursday in Los Angeles, San Diego, Ventura and Riverside.

Meanwhile, firefighters have made progress in bringing the 10,000-hectare Hughes brand in Los Angeles under control, which contains it by 36%since it broke out on Wednesday.

Fires have destroyed the US state for the past few weeks, with Palisades and Eaton Brande Brande burning a total of more than 37,000 hectares and killed at least 28 people.

Here are some details of the latest fires based on updates from California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire):

  • Border 2 -Brand in San Diego spans 800 hectares. Evacuation orders are currently in place
  • Laguna Fire in Ventura covering 94 hectares and 70% of it has been brought under control
  • The Sepulveda fire in Los Angeles spans 45 hectares and is 60% contained. In an update sent on X, Los Angeles Fire Department said they had prevented the fire from spreading and evacuation orders had been lifted
  • Gibbel four bread out in Riverside County and covered 15 hectares. The fire crews have managed to prevent the fire from moving on
  • A shrub fire called “Gilman Fire” in San Diego covers two acres but Blaze’s progress has stopped

Trump is ready to visit Los Angeles on Friday to investigate the damage in the fireplace.

The newly consecrated president has been critical of the reaction to fires and has threatened to withhold federal assistance if California does not change the way it controls water supply.

He has criticized California’s governor Gavin Newsom and repeatedly made claims that the state had water problems because the redirected supplies to save a small fish called a melt.

When asked by US media if he would cut off funding to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Trump said, “I might have to do it. Sometimes that’s the only thing you can do. California is a good Example of that.

“If you actually pollen people, they won’t have shrine cities, but Gavin Newsom does. And these radical left politicians do.”

Brian Rice, president of California’s professional firefighters, the BBC said he hopes Trump does not deny state federal help.

“The most important focus we have is to get federal help to California into these communities where people have lost their lives, their homes,” he said.

“In the history of this country, federal disaster relief has never been bound if you do this you get it. This is the discussion that is going on, it has never happened.”

Hughes – the third – the third largest burn in the state after Palisades and Eaton fires – forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate after it broke out on Wednesday.

According to Cal Fire, the crew managed to make progress in containing the rapidly moving flame on Thursday.

In an update sent on Friday, the US national weather service has said that dry weather and “elevated fire conditions” will continue in southern California before rain this weekend is expected to bring relief to the fire -knit areas.
