Woman arrested in deadly shooting of border patrol agent in Vermont

A woman has been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of the US border patrol agent earlier this week at a Highway in Vermont close to the US-Canadian border, the FBI office in Albany said Friday.

Teresa Youngblut, a 21-year-old resident of Washington State, was indicted for assault on a federal law enforcement officer, FBI said.

US border patrol agent David Maland, 44, was shot on Monday afternoon during a traffic stop at Interstate 91 in Coventry, Vermont, and later died of his injuries, Vermont State Police And the FBI said. Coventry is approx. 13 miles south of the Canadian border.

Maland was awarded to CBP’s Swanton sector covering parts of Vermont, New York and New Hampshire, a spokesman for US customs and border protection who previously told CNN.
