JD Vance compares Pete Hegeth’s confirmation with Ohio State’s title: ‘No matter what the result was’

Vice President JD Vance cast the undefeated vote to confirm Pete Hegeth as the next US Defense Minister late Friday and may feel a bit like Ohio State Quarterback Will Howard.

Vance, an alum from Ohio State, celebrated Hegeth’s confirmation with an anecdote referring to Hans Alma Mate’s last 34-23 national championship victory over Notre Dame.

“As I learned with Buckeyes just a week ago when you win the championship, it doesn’t matter what the score was. We won the championship on this one. We have a fantastic defense minister. We are proud of him and he’s going to do a fantastic piece of work, “Vance said.

Vance has been working on sports analogies lately.

After former President Joe Biden mistakenly insisted that the Constitution had been changed to include Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th change, Vance mocked that concept with a baseball comparison.

VANCE responded to the bite’s statement in a post of X and joked that Biden should put the deceased disgraceful MLB icon Pete Rose In the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Ohio States EMEKA EGBUKA reflects on how Buckeyes rallied from Michigan loss to win national championship

“Hey Joe, if we make fake s — on the way out, can you declare Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame?” Vance wrote with reference to a notorious base ball debate. Rose, MLB’s All-Time Hit leader who died in September, was excluded from the sport of life for illegal bets at stake.

Vance, meanwhile, got to attend Buckeyes’ first national title since 2014, the same day he and President Donald Trump were inaugurated. Vance has been a proud, vocal football fan in Ohio State throughout his political career as a former senator from the state.

Vance even joked to jump Monday’s inauguration over to see Buckeyes ingest Notre Dame in Atlanta.

“Hopefully everyone is cool with me skipping the initiation so that I can go to National title match, “ Vance joked in a post on social media.

During the campaign, Vance revealed that he told Trump that his loyalty to Buckeyes could affect Trump’s chances of winning the most important battlefield, Michigan.

“When he first asked me to be Vice President, I thought,” Well, you know, hopefully we won’t lose Michigan by 900 votes, because you’re going to regret it. Because it’s probably just a thousand P — Ed-off Wolverine fans who wouldn’t vote for a buckeye, ”Vance said during a performance at Outkick’s “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.”

“But I think most Michigan residents will be able to put aside sports rival and put the country first, which of course is what we all think is the most important thing.”

The Democratic National Committee tried to exploit Vancer’s connection to Ohio State with a campaign strategy in Michigan in early September. DNC flew a plane over a football match in Michigan on September 7 with a banner stating: “JD VANCE (LOVE) OHIO STATE (PLUS) Project 2025.”

However, the Trump Vance ticket ended up easily carrying Michigan.

Hegeth, 44, a former Minnesota National Guard officer earning in Iraq and Afghanistan, secured the role of leader of the Pentagon after weeks’ intense political drama of his nomination and public scrutiny of his personal life.

The Senate was locked at 50-50 with three Republicans-Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; Susan Collins, R-Maine; and Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. – join the Democrats in opposing Hegeth’s Confirmation.

The stalemate forced vance to cast the undefeated voice, which secured his confirmation.

“This is not the first time the headline reads: ‘Junior Enlisted Marine Redder Junior Army Officer’,” Joked Hegeth, a former FOX NEWS host, referring to Vance’s previous service in the US Marine Corps.
