‘Wheel of Fortune’ participant wins $ 26,000 – and viewers are convinced he gave the wrong answer

Viewers claimed that the host could not notice a wrong pronunciation that led to a false victory.

At the end of last year, Ryan Seacrest debuted his long -awaited debut at the Wheel of Fortune, replacing long -lasting host, Pat Sajak. While Seacrest’s selection generated a lot of talk among the fans, his performance on the very first episode also came under fire from some. As it turns out, Seacrest accepted a wrong response from a participant who allegedly gave him a false victory. The Die-Hard fans show was shocked by the technical boom, with some claiming the new host was not suitable to host the iconic show.

Mix-up happened during the third puzzle in the new host’s debut episode. The participant, Terry Watson, tried to solve a puzzle that had almost all letters filled. With so much help, Watson continued to guess the puzzle, “Vine-Remened Tomatoes,” and was declared a winner of the round of that host. This gave him a chance to move on and eventually reached the bonus round of the show.

While the segment was moving smoothly, the fans of the show picked up something very unusual. Viewers brought to social media to point out that the participant had not been answered correctly when he mistakenly stated the second word in the puzzle.

A viewer shared a clip from the round on YouTube, suggesting that Watson said “vine stoccing tomatoes” instead of “wine -stripped tomatoes”. Thus, his response should have been declared incorrect.

Fans of the show agreed with the comments that claimed Seacrest made a boom in its very first episode. “I heard it too. Wow,” @Suez6087 commented. It even came up on a Reddit post discussing Seacrest’s debut. “Was it just me, or did the guy say” Wine-Ripping Tomatoes “and not” Vine-riped Tomatoes “Should Ryan have stopped it?!” @Justanothernerdymom asked.

However, there were people who defended the new host who suggested that it was not his fault if the judges told him to accept the answer. “It’s up to the judges, not the host. They hum if it’s wrong. Removing the pressure from him; he’s just there to train participants on the next thing to do and keep things going,” @Oldbluekat suggested.

Some even suggested that there was nothing wrong with the answer when they also heard maturation, which was correct.

Nevertheless, Watson reaped the benefits of the alleged Goof-up. He continued to compete in the bonus round of the episode that took $ 25,849 with him and a trip to Mexico. After picking up the bonus convention, he chose the “Things” category and the puzzle read, “_ _ G _ T_ L _ _ _ _ T _ R_ NT,” with the default letters filled. Watson then continued to select Letter DHCA, after which the board is red, “D _ G _ TA L _ _ _ _ T _ R_ N T.”

Watson continued to make more wrong guesses, but did not get the answer “digital footprint”. The player moaned when the host revealed he had missed the chance to win an additional $ 40,000.

Despite all this, Watson still went away with more than $ 25,000 from the show, which many believe he didn’t deserve.
