Lakers could sign the former Celtic’s legendary scoring machine to strengthen the violation

As Los Angeles Lakers tries to strengthen their bench, they could look hard at a former Boston Celtics legend trying to return.

Lakers have several lists of needs, especially in the middle, but no one in LA would complain if GM Rob Pelinka added some benches that scored to the mixture.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis always carry a heavy strain offensively, and while Austin Reaves has bloomed in a legitimate third star, Lakers could use some pop from the bench for evenings when Dalton Knecht and Co. is off.

Why not take a flyer on a 35-year-old veteran who once finished the top five in the NBA MVP vote?

According to Espns Shams Charania, former Boston Celtics -Vagt Isaiah Thomas available in the market.

“Two-time all-Star Isaiah Thomas is pursuing another NBA return, signing the G-League and joining Utah Jazz’s Salt Lake City-affiliated company,” Sources said, “Charania reported on Monday morning.

“Last season average Thomas 33 points in four g league games on the way to a call to Suns.”

Injuries have resulted in an up-and-down career for Thomas, no doubt, but when he is on, it is impossible for NBA defense to keep Thomas out of the field and out of the scoring sheet.

“It” has been a problem for defenders since the moment he stepped on an NBA floor. He finished No. 7 in Rookie of the Year, who voted in 2012 after he was elected with the last election of the 2021 NBA draft of Sacramento Kings. In his fourth NBA season, Thomas finished in second place in Sixth Man of the Year vote.

Of course, come on Celtics. He was absurd in the 2016-17 season, an average of 28.9 points per year. Fight on the way to a top-five MVP vote result and an All-NBA Second Team Selection.

Since then, Thomas’ body has betrayed him several times, which has led him to become a NBA journey. Thomas has already used two stints with Lakers (2018, 2021) in addition to stretches with Phoenix Suns (2014-2015, 2024), Cleveland Cavaliers (2017-2018), Denver Nuggets (2018-2019), Washington Wizards (2019 -2020) , New Orleans Pelicans (2021), Dallas Mavericks (2021-2022) and Charlotte Hornets (2022).

As related by Charania, it has also spent time in the G League, where he was last dominated.

Thomas has always been a responsibility for defense, but he has also always been a bucket.

If the lakers do not sign it, another will certainly give him a shot.
