Keith Hackett shocked by next Michael Oliver steps after Arsenal Red

Keith Hackett has been stunned by the latest developments on Michael Oliver in the wake of the controversial red card he showed to Arsenal Ace Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA-official told exclusively Football Insides That the judge should take free after the incident to reflect instead of continuing to work such a packed schedule.

Oliver has been the subject of a huge amount of control after leaving many stunned to send Gunners-Venstreback off for a challenge on Wolves defender Matt Doherty on Saturday.

The arsenal man has since got the red card overturned under appeal, and Hackett is surprised at what’s coming next for the judge after seeing this decision turned.

Hackett vapors that Oliver set for quick return after Arsenal -Controvers

Since issuing a red card to Lewis-Skelly on Molineux, Oliver has been the subject of a worrying amount of extreme online abuse.

Despite this, the judge is ready for a quick return action in the wake of what happened in the clash between Arsenal and Wolves.

On Wednesday night (January 29) Oliver will be in Spain to take responsibility for the Barcelona Champions League co -clash with Serie A Side Atalanta.

However, Hackett does not agree with the official taking responsibility for a match, especially such a high profile as that, so shortly after what happened at Molineux.

Talking to Football innerThe former judge said:

“Does our best judges become too hard work?

“I would suggest that they are and especially our two UEFA elite referees Oliver and (Anthony) Taylor.

“I suggested after Oliver’s Howler that he should stand down for a few weeks to receive some Operational Council. Instead, he travels to Spain to work Barcelona.

“He returns to Heathrow Friday morning. Then travels to his home in Newcastle. Then it’s off to Ipswich to work this weekend’s Premier League game !! “

While Barcelona is already guaranteed somewhere in the last 16 of the Champions League, Atalanta may still need a result to avoid knockout-round play-offs.

Arsenal himself is also in the Champions League action with a trip to Girona, where only defeat and an important target difference swing would see them miss an automatic place in the last 16.
