Beef with Drake

Rap-ox meat is part of the hip-hop culture, as the music itself and the latest word war between top-selling artists have involved wounded emotions, internet chatting and several litigation. The beginning of the Lamar-Drake cooking meat seems to be the 2024 release of “Like That” by Lamar, Future and Metro Boomin. Lamar then released “Euphoria” and “6:16 in LA”, and Drake hit back with “Family Matters.”

Lamar then returned with “Not Like Us”, a # 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit, nominated for five Grammy Awards this year and has been streamed more than a billion times. In the song, Lamar accuses Drake of being a pedophile.

In January 2025, Drake Universal Music Group in Federal Court sued for defamation and harassment of “Not Like Us”, saying that the record company released the song, although Pedophilia charges against him are false.

“The trial is not about the artist who created ‘not like us,'” the trial said. “Instead, it’s all about UMG, the music company that decided to publish, promote, exploit and make money on accusations that it understood not only false but dangerous.”
