Kash Patel’s enema list is expected to be a flash point

In his book “Government Gansters” Mr. Patel clearly his hostility to the so -called Deep State and published a list of 60 names in an appendix.

It has been widely interpreted as an enema list and pronounces previously executive branch officials, but is by no means “extensive” according to Mr. Patel.

Many of the names are well known. They stand out because of their roles in investigations that offered President Trump or because they bowed the president’s authority. Some are unclear but well-known to those who closely followed the different controversies that enveloped the first Trump administration.

Former FBI officials are included, including James B. Comey, as Mr. Trump fired as the agency’s director, and his successor, Christopher A. Wray, who retired this month before the president could also remove him. There are two current FBI employees on the list.

One is an agent involved in a study that investigated a possible secret communication channel between the Trump organization and Alfa Bank, a Russian financial company with ties to the Kremlin. The second is a veteran analyst involved in the FBI’s study, known as “Crossfire Hurricane,” about Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election.

The list has generated unrest in the agency – not just for those who are on it, but even those who are not designated by name – given the mass fires at the Ministry of Justice in recent days. The dismissals expanded to about a dozen federal prosecutors who worked on the criminal prosecutions of Mr. Trump, with the acting legal lawyer who cited a lack of confidence.

“Given your significant role in prosecuting the president, I do not think the department’s leadership can trust you to help implement the president’s agenda faithfully,” read the memo by the acting legal lawyer, James Mchenry.

Whether this retribution that is wasted over to the agency is unclear. Mr. Patel insists that the list is not a roadmap.

“My version of accountability is a little different from maybe what most people would think,” Mr. Patel on the podcast “The Shawn Ryan Show.” He added: “I don’t have a hit list. I don’t have a revenge march I’m on. “
