Iconic ‘as tears go by’ singer Marianne faithfully dies at 78

Singer Marianne Faithfull, one of the most Prominent female voices from the British invasionDied Thursday in London, her spokesman said.

The singer “As Tears Go By” was 78.

“It is with deep sadness that we advertise the singer, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull,” her representative said in a statement.

“Marianne died peacefully in London today in the company of her loving family. She will be missed a lot.”

The reason for her death was not immediately revealed.

In 2006 faithfully revealed that she had Breast cancer.

She then said that the cancer had been discovered early and was convinced that she would have many more years to come.

“I have absolutely faith and confidence in my amazing medical team, and of course I will feel good again, if not better than ever,” she said in 2006. “Next year’s tour, I want to assure fans, will be a big big party . ”
