‘Part of my life so long’

Mick Jagger reflects on life and legacy of the late musician Marianne Faithfull.

Thursday, January 30 – Just hours after news broke that the British singer and actress had died at the age of 78 – Rolling Stones -Musician, 81, Shared a sincere Instagram postWhere he reflected on his lifelong friendship and once romantic relationship with faithful.

“I’m so sad to hear about Marianne Faithfull’s death,” Jagger wrote on Instagram along with several photos of the singer over the years, some of whom also contained the rocker himself. “She was so much a part of my life so long. She was a wonderful friend, a beautiful singer and a great actress. She will always be remembered.”

A spokesperson confirmed to people that faithful had died Thursday. A cause of death was not immediately available.

“It is with deep sadness that we advertise the singer’s, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull,” said a statement released by her spokesman. “Marianne died peacefully in London today in the company of her loving family. She will be missed a lot.”

Keith Richards also paid his respect for faithfully with An Instagram post Thursday. The 81-year-old Stones guitarist shared a recent photo of himself with the rock singer, where they toasted their respective wine glasses and teagone as they sit in a room with a piano behind them.

“My heartfelt compassion with Marianne’s family! I am so sad and will miss her !!” Richard’s caption in the picture. “Love, Keith.”

Faithfull, often known as the Crown Princess from Swinging Sixties London, was first discovered at a party in London in 1964 by Rolling Stones Manager Andrew Loog Oldham. Oldham would eventually help her launch her musical career with the field “AS Tears goes by” written by Jagger and Richards.

After having his first child with his ex-husband John Dunbar at just 18 years old in 1965, Faithfull and Jagger began to go out and quickly became known as a celebrity “IT pair.” The singer is assumed long to have been inspiration behind large rolling stones, such as “you can’t always get what you want” and “wild horses.”

“You know to be a woman in Rock ‘n’ Roll did not show me kindness,” told faithfully to British Vogue in April 2021. “Although it wasn’t to say that Mick was unfriendly – he wasn’t. Mick and Keith (Richards) and Charlie (Watts) were really friendly – but many people were not.”

The couple split in the late 1970, but apparently remained on good conditions, how faithful people told people in 1980: “He wasn’t the great love in my life. We were just two children living at too many different levels.”

The official Stone’s Instagram account Also shared a post to reflect on Faithfull’s career and inheritance, publishing a video of the band’s 1966 performance by “As Tears Go By” Ed Sullivan -Show. The band’s appearance marked the band’s third performance on the show, and screaming fans could be heard in the audience before Jagger began his inner reproduction of the field.
