Gracie Abrams Player ‘I Love You I’m Sorry’ At FireAid Benefit Concert

To take the scene at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome Thursday Evening (January 30), Breakout Singer-Songwriter Gracie Abrams Shared a mood that permeated the crowd of FireAid Benefit Concert with a performance of her hit song “I love you, I’m sorry.”

Wearing a floor length white lace dress, Abrams appeared next to the National Aaron Dessner, each with a guitar in hand to perform a moving acoustic rendering of Billboard Hot 100 Hit of last year’s The secret of us. When the audience eagerly song with, Abram’s card tore up when she reached the last choir. “The way life goes/ jealing down our path,” she sang. “Put on the horn to prove that it haunts me/ I love you, I’m sorry.”

Abrams then took a moment to address the amount directly and shared that she could relate to those affected by Palisades four. “I grew up in palisades and my heart is with all my neighbors. We are so grateful and blown up by all firefighters who put their lives on the line to protect us all, ”she said. “This one (concert) is just as beautiful reflection of what music is doing to bring us all.”

Instead of going for another original track, Abrams instead chose to sing “a love song to Los Angeles,” as she called it – counts Crows’ 1996 -hit “A long December.” Due to the classic track, Abrams and Dessner found a new significance for the song’s haunting-but-heopful texts. “It’s been a long December and there’s reason to believe/ maybe this year will be better than the last,” she belted near the end of her performance.

Together with Abrams, FireAid Benefit concerts included a packed slate of guest artists – including Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks, Lil Baby, Olivia Rodrigo, Jelly Roll and lots of others – who come together to raise money for the affected of the fires that decimated the Los Angeles area earlier this month. Divided across two venues (LA’s Kia Forum and Intuit Dome), pledged the event all revenue to help displaced families and help rebuild Los Angeles’ infrastructure.
