Texas Rangers adds pitching -insurance in blockbuster -handle proposal with Yankees

Texas Rangers have been one of the busiest teams in baseball this season.

After winning the World Series in 2023, the evil fell under expectations in 2024, led to General Manager Chris Young, who is seeking to shake things up this winter. His goal was to make upgrades to avoid another shutdown.

At this point, the movements made should be able to compete for the American League West title.

Their bullp has been renewed as reinforcements with Kirby Yates, David Robertson and Andrew Chafin were needed. But none of their acquisitions have very late-game experience, so bringing Robertson back would make a lot of sense.

In the lineup, the team was looking for some more pop. They approached this need by trading Jake Burger in an agreement with Miami Marlins and signing Joc Pederson in free agency.

Both give great potential for the home driver and elaborate on what was already a strong set -up.

If Rangers gets better luck in the injury department this year, they must again be challengers in the US league.

While some of their most important contributors in the lineup fought for suffering in 2024, where they really need luck being on the pitchinghaug.

Texas is dependent on Jacob Degrom and Tyler Mahle to return to Form in 2025 after combining to start six starts last season. Young Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter could round off the rotation behind the two veterans and Nathan Eovaldi. Cody Bradford must also be in the mixture.

It would certainly not hurt to add some insurance to the schedule that they could do in a trade with New York Yankees.

Joel Reuter from Bleacher Report Have suggested an exciting deal that would help both teams tackle weaknesses on their respective guards.

Marcus Stroman, Prospect Rafael Flores and Cash would go to Rangers in exchange for infielder Josh Smith.

If fans of both teams have some deja vu, it’s because they made an appointment that involved Smith once already. Back in 2022, he was traded with Ezequiel Duran to Texas in exchange for Joey Gallo.

Rarely does hold a chance to essentially hit Redo on a deal that did not pan, but Yankees could have a chance to do this.

Smith was excellent in 2024 and entered an exit role when Josh Jung was injured. Now that Jung is healthy and is expected to take over in the hot corner again, Smith could become usable.

No one would blame Texas to hold on to him as he presents excellent value as a versatile bench that can fill several holes. But if they can add an established starting pot to the mixture, really the only hole they haven’t addressed this winter, it would be hard to move on.

Given that this is a wage dump for New York and Smith is a valuable player, Rangers would get a very touted offensive view and cash to cover what could be $ 36.5 million in salary for stroman.

Should he throw 140 laps in 2025, when it would trigger a $ 18 million player in 2026 on top of the $ 18.5 million he’s ready to do this coming season.
