The Weeknd to appear in Detroit, in May, a weekend


The hugely successful Toronto artist performs a Saturday night concert in the center of Detroit as part of his new tour.

Pop-R&B Superstar The Weeknd performs on Ford Field 24 May as part of the 2025 extension of his “After Hours to Thern” Stadium Tour, announced promoters on Friday.

The message comes the same day as the release of the artist’s new album, “Hurry up tomorrow.”

The Ford Field concert is the second show on the tour’s 26-date itinerary. Trek starts May 9 in Phoenix and wraps September 3 in San Antonio.

“Hurry you tomorrow” is The Weeknd’s first album since 2022’s “Dawn FM”, which included hits “Is there another?” and “out of time.”

The 34-year-old Toronto Hitmaker is Spotify’s 2nd greatest artist in the world with more than 117 million monthly listeners. He has 27 songs – 21 as the main artist, six as a highlighted artist – who has earned more than 1 billion plays on the streaming service.

The Ford Field Show is the fifth 2025 concert that was announced at the venue. The building is also ready to host Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks (March 29), AC/DC (April 30), Post Malone and Jelly Roll (May 18) and Kendrick Lamar and Sza (June 10).

Weeknd’s last area performance was in July 2022 at Ford Field.
